"Charity" and "Love Feast" Grow Like Weeds
Charity has undergone the following changes as of February 21, 2015:

  • Made many minor changes to update the overall design, including a new menu bar like the redesign that premiered on Charity Envieth Not.

"Charity Envieth Not" Multiplies to Five Big Pages!
"Charity Envieth Not" undergoes a big change! An original one page turned into three in this expansion. Later, the second and third pages got split into two each, making a total of five pages, a first for any Study Love topic section. As usual in Study Love, the whole section is navigable as if it were one big page, but each actual page is about 30 KB or less, which means you can move around as lightning-quickly as ever.

Also a first, this section has been pushed over the 100,000-byte mark! It now stands at about 128 KB. Keep in mind that Study Love sections have no graphics or scripts but only text (the content) and simple HTML (formatting codes), so you have lots more to explore!

In the finished expansion posted on 1/11/2015:

  • Opened Study Love's first Hebrew section.
  • Added Study Love's first Bible (Bible dictionaries) section.
  • Redesigned the top-of-page menu bar to accommodate the splitting of Commentators into two pages (A-J and K-Z) and the addition of the new Bible dictionaries section. Future updates of other Study Love topic sections will include this redesign.
  • Added many new versions of the text, including some non-English.
  • Added many definitions to the Greek section.
  • Added more references (Texts), making them all conveniently accessible from the sections that refer to them, especially from Greek and Commentators. Added more alternate versions.
  • Added an Other Ancient Sources section.
  • Performed many minor changes to update the page's format according to current Study Love style.
In tandem with the changes made to Charity Envieth Not, entries have been added to Version Abbreviations and the Commentators Key.

"Thinketh no evil" is the next to undergo a huge modification. Changes posted on 4/29/2012 include:
  • Added definitions from Mounce's, Vine's, Strong's, Thayer's. The head word logizomai is used in many senses, so this is a large expansion by itself.
  • Split the page into two. You'll notice very little difference, just the big increase in size.
  • Added an Index link to the top.
  • Updated the Versions section. Added plenty of versions.
  • Added a new section, full-text References.
  • Linked references in definitions to the full texts thereof and moved the references closer to their word-senses.
  • Added several paragraphs to the Commentators section.
  • 'Seeketh Not Her Own' More Than Doubles
Sometimes I get carried away with a fresh idea, and a page really swells in size. Finally, on Easter Sunday, 4/8/2012, Seeketh Not Her Own is ready to post, and it's so big it has not only been split but also pushed to the size limit where it could split again. Changes include:
    • Added a large, fresh new section, What To Seek, a collection of verses that answers the question, "Well, if we're not seeking our own, then what are we supposed to seek?" Not only does the section add to your sense of direction in life, it also gives you a chance to see the various Greek verb tenses in action.
    • Added a small new section, Other Ancient Sources.
    • Split the page into two. You'll notice very little difference, just the big increase in size.
    • Added an Index link to the top.
    • Updated the Versions section.
    • Added definitions from Mounce's, Vine's, Strong's, Thayer's. The head word is used in many senses, so this is another large expansion.
    • Linked references in definitions to the full texts thereof and moved the references closer to their word-senses.
    • Added several paragraphs to the Commentators section.
Also of note, I made a little promotional flier that says, "StudyLove.org" in big letters, with "THE LOVE LAB", "1 Cor 13 'Agape'", "www.StudyLove.org" in smaller letters underneath, all in black type on a 5.5" by 4.25" yellow sheet (four fliers can be cut from each letter-sized page). Now I'm keeping my eyes peeled for more opportunities to post it or hand it out.
'Doth Not Behave Itself Unseemly' Mushrooms
On 3/27/2012, big changes come to Doth Not Behave Itself Unseemly, including:
    • Added a very large new section, Other Ancient Sources. Merely searching for "unseemly" brought up a colorful sampling of how the word is used.
    • Added an Antonym.
    • Split the page into two. You'll notice very little difference, just the big increase in size.
    • Added an Index link to the top.
    • Updated the Versions section.
    • Added a few definitions from Mounce's, Vine's, Strong's, Thayer's.
    • Linked references in definitions to the full texts thereof and moved the references closer to their word-senses.
    • Added several paragraphs to the Commentators section.
    Love Lab Gets Its Own Domain;
Two More Pages See Big Expansion
On 3/18/2012, big changes came to Charity Vaunteth Not Itself and Beareth All Things. Changes include:
    • Addition not only of Mounce's and Vine's definitions, but also of Strong's and Thayer's.
    • Versions brought up to the latest I have.
    • Full-text references linked back to the definitions.
    • More added to Comments.
    • An Index link added to the top.
    • Beareth All Things has been split. Pages in the Love Lab are limited to about 30 KB or smaller, which keeps them fast-loading. The size limit is being pushed, so pages will now start splitting. The difference this makes is barely noticeable, hopefully.
And, of course, there's the major change in the Love Lab itself, which now has its own domain, StudyLove.org. You'll still see traces of its former location, though.

Minor changes have been made, also, to And Is Kind and Is Not Easily Provoked.

    Two Pages Ready to Split
On 3/9/12, big changes walked into And Is Kind and Is Not Easily Provoked. At last, a long-awaited moment is arriving: The rooms in this lab are starting to get big enough to divide them into suites. These two pages would break through the size limit if I added more to them. Perhaps in the next update, whatever rooms I'm working on will end up so large, I'll have to split them. For now, it's time for me to think and figure out how to make more space and still provide easy navigation.

Among today's changes, which I've been working on all week, the most notable are:

    • Quick links at the top now include Index, which takes you back out to Love Lab main.
    • Having bought a third Greek dictionary at my local retailer, I added Mounce's and Vine's definitions of the main word and its derivatives. Listed synonyms of derivatives, with Zodhiates brief definitions.
    • What full-text references each page has, they now can be gotten to by tapping any reference you now see in red. (After you look at the verse, use your browser's Back button to get back to where you were.)
    • Versions sections have been updated to include the latest entries in our central version file, which most recently added the Aramaic Bible In Plain English.
    Five Pages Augmented
    On February 12, 2011:
    Added to Charity
    On February 8, 2011:
    • Added more versions. Godbey and Mace stand out.
    • Added internal links to the various sections of the page.
    Added a New Page
After all these years, on February 8, 2011, a Version Abbreviations page finally appears.
Added to Rejoiceth in the Truth
On December 14, 2009, I added an "Other Ancient Sources" text:
Barnabas 2:2-3--Fear (PHObos) and patience (hypomoNE-), then, are helpers (boe-THOI) of our faith (PISteo-s); and long-suffering (makrothyMIa) and continence (enKRAteia) are things which fight on our side. 3 While these remain pure in what respects the Lord, Wisdom (soPHIa), Understanding (SYnesis), Science (episTE-me-), and Knowledge (GNO-sis) rejoice along with (syneuPHRAInontai) them.
Alt.: ... 3 while these things continue, those which respect the Lord rejoice in purity along with them -- Wisdom ...
Alt.: Now the assistants of our faith are fear and patience; our fellow-combatants, long-suffering and continence. 3 Whilst these remain pure in what relates to the Lord, wisdom, and understanding, and science, and knowledge, rejoice together with them.
